It had been a few years since we last recorded. I held the new electric guitar, and was unable to tune it. What was this thing I was holding? Twila and I had no idea, no set songs, no understanding of what this album was going to sound like. We dreamed together. We saw our time in Tula Mexico, on the wild Power Spot, we had become Jaguars stalking the land. The Dream of the Jaguar became the first song on the album. After that, things manifested quickly, and after a few sessions we had nineteen rough takes. It then took many months to sculpt the tunes into masterpieces. The overall shape of the album resonated with the shadow of the Toltecs...the personage of Tezcatlipoca. Tezcatlipoca was the god of the underworld, the domain of the Jaguars. He is also known as the god of Smoke and Mirrors...the one who poisoned Quetzalcoatl. I laughed whenever my Benefactor Don Arturo offered me some new plant on the landscape, as possible poison and the reenactment of that ancient story. But our album was poison to Known hearing. The middle track... titled Tezcatlipoca... sounded too deep for any normal listener, expecting the Known beats. We even played this track for some visitors from the DJ rave movement... to see if our music was too scary, but they assured us that it took them into a dark new primal world that they liked. It was obvious that we were deep into the Unknown...way passed Goth metal, way passed acid ambient, way into the land of dark dreaming beyond any known genres. So put on your headphones... and take a walk with all Orange multimedia to visit the realm of Tezcatlipoca... and we assure you that your dreams will be dark and mysterious.
